HISTORY

Applause was implemented by the Wichita Falls Symphony League in 2003 as part of a “Golden Initiative” in honor of the League’s 50th anniversary. Initially, sponsors visited every Wichita Falls junior high and high school, encouraging teachers and choir directors to nominate students who were accomplished in music, dance or theater. Now, current Applause members also suggest prospective students. While there are no dues, parents are required to join the Wichita Falls Symphony League ($35) each year. As WFSL members, parents are listed in the WFSL yearbook, invited to WFSL functions, and receive WFSL newsletters including information about Applause activities.
